Project Description

Geotourism interprets the geology and landscape in a sustainable way to educate and inform visitors in a non-threatening manner that protects and enhances the environment, engages with the local community to support and where possible participate in geotourism activities.

Aim: Determine the potential for establishing a Geotourism program in the GRCA region by assessing the geological formations an landscapes, determining the potential for local community support and engagement in undertaking future geotourism programs.

Activities: Geotourism interprets the geology and landscape in a sustainable way to educate and inform visitors in a non-threatening manner that protects and enhances the environment, engages with the local community to support and where possible participate in geotourism activities.

Outcomes: A report on geotourism potential and opportunities within the Gunduwa region. Engagement with local stakeholders (Aboriginal/Community/Industry) to identify geotourism opportunities.
